This mug is made of white stoneware, and was thrown on the wheel. The clay was altered into a square shape on the bottom portion of the form, and the surface textured with rope impression and resist on each side. The smooth areas of the mug were screen printed with an original chrysanthemum drawing of mine in cobalt slip. Those areas and the lip were further decorated with a bamboo brush. The handle was attached, the piece was left to dry slowly, and then it was bisque fired. From there it was covered in a glossy, clear glaze and fired to ^6. It stands about 4" high.
