This is a handmade ceramic mug with relief texture of a Noble Fir branch, a tree of the PNW. The piece was constructed with slabs of clay that were textured on molds I made of fresh Oregon conifer branches. A line pattern decorates the edges and seams, the mug bottom and interior are decorated as well. Underglaze color was painted on to highlight the textured surface. The mug was covered with clear glaze, then tucked back in my electric kiln and fired to a bit over 2200°F. About 4" tall.
